Once upon a time in Paris, I went to the St. James Hotel to meet up with a friend over from the UK doing promotion for Bon Jovi. As she was busy organising interviews, she asked us to have tea with his mother to keep her company. She was a lovely lady in a pink velvet play suit who told us stories about their florist business in New Jersey, how Jon used to work in the shop, how he & his wife were high school sweethearts, and about her own current home in sunny Florida. I was a bit sad when it was time to part, as she was so friendly and sweet.
